Blown tire prompts emergency landing at Oakland International Airport

A Yellow Alert was issued Tuesday at Oakland International Airport. Officials said at 7:02 p.m. a Southwest Airlines en route to the airport had endured a blown tire prompting the emergency landing. 

The aircraft landed safely at 7:20 p.m. and was towed to the gate. 

The incident caused some minor delays and rerouted some aircraft traffic to the airport's North Field. 

The runway was re-opened by 7:50 p.m. and the airport's operations returned to normal.
