Homicide investigation underway after body of East Palo Alto man found along Skyline Blvd in San Mateo County

A man found killed off Skyline Boulevard in San Mateo County was identified Wednesday as Eddy Cervantes, 40, of East Palo Alto.

Two people enjoying the view found his body about 5 p.m. Tuesday, said Detective Rosemerry Blankswade of the San Mateo County sheriff's office.

Highway 35, just south of Highway 92, reopened to traffic in both directions at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Blankswade said Cervantes was the victim of a homicide. Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

This isn't the first time that Skyline Boulevard has been a crime scene.

Last year, auithorities say Malik Dosouqi lured a taxi driver and tow truck driver a day apart to Skyline and stabbed them to death. A motive isn't known. Mental illness is a factor, authorities say, but Dosouqi is now fit to stand trial.
