SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - Students are returning to class at an elementary school in San Francisco's Ingleside Heights neighborhood after a bomb threat Monday morning, police said.

School staff found a bomb threat note at Jose Ortega Elementary School at 400 Sargent St. at about 7:35 a.m. before school started, school district officials said.

The district alerted parents to the threat and many students stayed home Monday morning. Those who didn't get the message in time were taken to a nearby facility, according to the school district.

The Police Department's bomb squad responded to the campus and concluded their search without finding a bomb at 10:09 a.m., police said.
