Burglary in Orinda caught on surveillance video

ORINDA (BCN) - Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two men captured on surveillance video during a burglary of an Orinda home earlier this week, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's officials said the burglary occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Orinda.

The suspects are possibly linked to two other burglaries that occurred on Monday and Tuesday during the morning hours in the same area, but sheriff's officials have not confirmed that.

In the video, a suspect approached the front door of an Orinda home and rang the doorbell.

The suspect then disappeared from view, and the sound of a rear window being smashed is heard shortly afterward.

The two men spent about three minutes in the house before fleeing, sheriff's officials said.

One of the suspects was described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt and striped pajama bottoms.

The other suspect had on a dark hooded sweatshirt with red writing on the front, blue jeans and a dark cloth covering his face from the nose down.

Anyone with relevant information about the case is asked to call Orinda police, which has a contract with the sheriff's office, at (925) 254-6820.
