Californians nominated to Trump sub-Cabinet posts

President Trump on Monday announced his picks for sub-Cabinet appointments, and five are from California.

San Francisco attorney Harmeet Dhillon was nominated as Assistant Attorney General. This appointment will need Senate confirmation. 

Stanford professor Jayanta Bhattacharya was nominated as director of the National Institutes of Health.

Silicon Valley investor Scott Kupor was nominated to be director of the Office of Personnel Management.

Science and technology investor James O'Neill was nominated as Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services.

And Southern California businessman and politician Troy Edgar was nominated to be Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security.
