Cat survives wildfire with singed whiskers
TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - A wildfire burning near Eureka in Trinity County may have destroyed a number of homes, but it could not destroy the bond between one cat and her owners.
Recently a family, along with their cat Ruthie Rosemary, was forced out of their home because the flames were getting too close.
As they were loading the car, the calico tabby jumped out and had to be left behind.
But when her owners returned five days later they heard a meow coming from a burned truck.
Somehow Ruthie Rosemary survived.
The US Fire Service - Trinity County posted photos of Ruthie Rosemary on its Facebook page.
Other than singed whiskers and eyebrows, she made it through the fire unharmed.
