Investigators are looking for the vehicle involved in an early morning police chase that ended with a CHP cruiser slamming into three parked cars in Oakland Thursday morning.

The chase began around 2-30 a.m. on Interstate 580 Freeway near Dublin, but it ended up on city streets in Oakland.

The crash happened near MacArthur Boulevard and 100th Avenue.

According to authorities, during the pursuit, the passenger in the suspect's vehicle began spraying, what officers believe was a fire extinguisher at them, as perhaps to distract them.

The CHP cruiser hit a fire hydrant, light pole, and three parked cars, before coming to rest on the sidewalk next to a building.

There were two officers inside the cruiser, but they were not hurt.

The suspect's car is only described as a 4-door sedan.
