A collision Thursday afternoon in the westbound lanes of the Bay Bridge may involve five vehicles and is causing traffic delays, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was reported at 3:43 p.m. just east of the tunnel on Yerba Buena Island.

CHP officials said the collision was blocking one lane. There are no reports of any injuries.

One of the drivers that fled turned their vehicle around and came back from the Harrison off-ramp, going eastbound on the westbound span (the upper portion of the bridge) to the scene of the crash, officials said.

One female adult was taken into custody for reckless driving and possible DUI, according to CHP.

Another westbound collision occurred around 2 p.m. near the mid-point of the west span, prompting traffic delays.

The latest collision is adding to those delays.

The earlier collision involved at least three vehicles. No injuries were reported.
