AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (KTVU) -- While the Bay Area is counting down to 2016, some parts of the world are already ringing in the new year.
New Zealand, which is 21 hours ahead of the Bay Area, was one of the first countries to celebrate 2016.
Fireworks went off over the Sky Tower in Auckland.
