Crash blocks several lanes of I-680 in Fremont ahead of afternoon commute

FREMONT, Calif. (KTVU) - Fremont Police are advising drivers to avoid southbound I-680 north of Mission Blvd. due to a five-vehicle crash involving an overturned big-rig truck that was hauling dirt. 

The crash occurred at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday. 

Officials said one person suffered major injuries. 

The crash is blocking several lanes and it's unclear when the lanes will reopen.
