Crash on Hwy 221 in Napa leaves at least one dead

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a fatal traffic accident Monday morning on state Highway 221 in Napa.

At 2:19 a.m., CHP officers responded to a report of a solo vehicle off the roadway, near the highway's southbound lanes, just south of Kaiser Road, according to the CHP.

The vehicle was reported to be about 100 feet away from the roadway and facing the opposite direction, the CHP said.

It's unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the accident.

At this point, additional details have not been released.
