Fatal crash on I-80 slows traffic near Richmond

East bound I-80 moving slow on Monday morning after deadly crash. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.

RICHMOND, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened Monday morning on eastbound I-80 near El Portal Drive in Richmond. 

Traffic was slowed down on both sides of the highway about 5 a.m.

It is not yet known whether light rain in the area contributed to the cause of the crash.
