Deadly crash shuts down busy Antioch road

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KTVU) - A deadly crash has shut down busy Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch for the heart of the morning commute.

According to authorities a 26-year-old Richmond man was killed in the crash. 

According to Antioch Police the crash happened sometime before 3 a.m. on Hillcrest Avenue between Country Hills Drive and Sterling Hill Drive.

The exact circumstances of the crash are not known at this time, but authorities say speed was a factor.

The road is closed and will remain that way for a significant period.

As a result, they are urging drivers to find another way around the area.

Antioch police are continuing to investigate.
