VOLUSIA COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - Two suspects trying to outrun authorities in central Florida thought they were getting away when they jumped into the wrong backyard.
The Volusia County Sheriff's office helicopter followed the suspects after they were spotted allegedly driving a car with stolen tags.
As the suspects were running from police they jumped into a backyard where a dog was waiting to pounce.
The four-legged crime fighter was able to jump up and knock one of the suspects to the ground.
Authorities apprehended both men a short time later.
The dog's owner says his 2-year-old rescue was just being territorial, but he's glad man's best friend has his back.
