Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI, strikes tree and utility pole in Concord

CONCORD, Calif. - Police arrested a 28-year-old Walnut Creek man on Wednesday on suspicion of DUI after he struck a tree and a utility pole, darkening a neighborhood for possibly hours.

Concord police said the man was driving on Oak Grove Road about 2 a.m. in an Infinity SUV when he struck the pole.

PG&E crews said 500 customers will likely be without power until 3 p.m.
