Drivers warned of traffic snarls as SF's Central Subway construction continues

Expect headaches and congestion near AT&T Park in San Francisco for the next week as the Central Subway construction project enters its latest phase.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area of King and 4th streets while work is done to install tracks to link Muni’s T-Line to the Central Subway.

This is the second phase of the Central Subway Trackway Project. Work began Friday night as part of the two-tier construction process, scheduled to last until next Saturday.

In the meantime, buses will replace trains on the T-Line and the E-line streetcars will not run along the Embarcadero for the next two weekends. The Central Subway is slated for completion in 2019.
