Fans going to A's game Tuesday night urged to take public transit

OAKLAND (BCN) - Fans going to the Oakland A's game against the Texas Rangers at O.co Coliseum Tuesday evening are strongly encouraged to take public transit because of extra crowding expected from a Fleetwood Mac concert going on at the adjacent Oracle Arena.

Team officials encouraged fans to take BART or Capitol Corridor trains to the ballpark for the 7:05 p.m. game.

For those driving, the O.co Coliseum parking gates open at 4 p.m., with gates into the ballpark set to open at 5:35 p.m.

Free parking via the team's "Chevy Free Parking Tuesday" promotion will be honored until 7 p.m., then parking will increase to $35 for those coming after 7 p.m. for the Fleetwood Mac concert.

The A's won their season opener on Monday, beating the Rangers 8-0 with pitcher Sonny Gray taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
