Fire engulfs boats at Oakland Estuary

OAKLAND, Calif. - Firefighters have controlled a fire that burned multiple boats at a dock in the Oakland Estuary this afternoon, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported at 12:10 p.m. at 1 Fifth Ave. Fire crews responded and had the blaze under control as of 12:41 p.m., the dispatcher said.

The dispatcher did not know how many boats burned but said no injuries were reported. Fire crews remained at the scene this afternoon to put out hot spots and pump water out of listing vessels.

No other details about the blaze were immediately available. No injuries have been reported.
