Firefighters gain control of early-morning brush fire near Martinez
MARTINEZ, Calif. (KTVU/BCN) - Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Cal Fire crews were able to get a small brush fire near Martinez under control early Thursday morning.
The blaze was first reported at 1:01 a.m. 1/4-mile east of McEwen Road on the eastbound side of state Highway 4, according to fire spokesman Steve Hill.
The fire was burning on a medium slope and at a moderate rate of spread, Hill said.
There are no immediate reports of injuries.
