First ever Star Wars toy auction
NEW YORK - In anticipation for the newest chapter in the Star Wars franchise, Sotheby's auction house is holding its first ever *Star Wars* collectibles auction.
The action features more than 600 original action figures, prop replicas and memorabilia.
Some of the top items on tap include a Star Wars early bird certificate package store display, valued between $7000 to $9,000.
A 42-inch Chewbacca plush toy, with a price tag between $3,000 and $5,000.
The highest of the 175 lots is a collection of framed coins from 1985.
Another sought after item for fans is a Luke Skywalker action figure with double-telescoping saber.
It is being called one of the rarest and most significant items in the sale.
