Foot-patrol officers discover woman's dead body near Guadalupe River trail

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - San Jose police foot patrol officers discovered an adult female's dead body near the Guadalupe River Trail Thursday morning. 

The body was found near West Julian Street at North Autumn Street at around 10:24 a.m., police said. 

Santa Clara County Coroner's Office responded to the scene and determined there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and will conduct further investigation. 

The unidentified woman's body will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of her death. San Jose Police Department Homicide and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene.

The identity of the woman will be released by Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim's ID and notify her next of kin.
