Fremont police investigating shooting after wounded man found

A 30-year-old man was wounded early this morning during a shooting in Fremont, according to police.

At around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a several loud bang noises and a man heard yelling for help at the Waterstone at Fremont apartments at 39600 Leslie St., police said.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident, but have very little information about the shooting, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 125 pounds and was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to police.
