SAN JOSE, Calif. - Crews in San Jose struck a steel gas line on Friday morning, prompting the evacuation of nearby structures, according to the fire department.
The department issued an alert about 9:30 a.m. to the leak on the 6200 block of W. Walbrook Drive in west San José.
Nearby buildings were either evacuated or residents were told to shelter in place.
PG&E is en route, the fire department said, and traffic is impacted in the area.
