Girl with terminal cancer celebrates 5th birthday in style
HOOD RIVER, Oregon - A little girl with terminal cancer celebrated her 5th birthday in style.
The Oregonian reports Lila May Schow has been fighting a rare form of childhood cancer called neuroblastoma for the last three years.
Her family recently heard from doctors that treating Lila’s cancer at this point would do more harm than good, and this could be her last birthday.
According to the report, Lila’s mom was able to rally the community to give her little girl the best day of her life.
Lila arrived at her party in a glamorous dress complete with a tiara. A red carpet awaited greeted her as she was dropped off by a horse drawn carriage.
Family, friends and hundreds of well-wishers attended Lila’s party.
According to the Oregonian, the party was about living in the moment and enjoying the celebration for the little girl.
