Olympic gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas is being celebrated for her groundbreaking role in the sports world with a Barbie doll in her likeness.

Just after securing a spot to return to the Olympics at the U.S. Olympic women’s gymnastics trials in San Jose over the weekend, Mattel unveiled that it will honor Douglas with a new doll as part of its "Shero" Barbie line.

Douglas became the first woman of color to win the individual all-around competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

"Shero" Barbies focus on female figures who inspire girls by breaking boundaries.

The line includes dolls modeled after other well known figures including singer-performer and Oakland-native Zendaya and country singer Trisha Yearwood.

Douglas's doll is outfitted with a leotard inspired by the gymnast's leotard collection designed for the sportswear company, GK Elite.

The doll got a big thumbs up from the world famous athlete.

In a tweet, she expressed her excitement about the new "Shero" Barbie, and she called on her young fans to "continue to break barriers&dream big."

Her message also included the hashtag: #YouCanBeAnything.
