Henry Lee's Rap Sheet for Dec. 7, 2015
(KTVU) - Here's the Rap Sheet for Dec. 7, 2015:
BEWARE OF FAKE COP: San Mateo police say a man may be targeting Safeway stores for robbery while masquerading as a county sheriff's deputy.
About 9 p.m. Nov. 24, police responded to the Safeway store at the Crystal Springs shopping center after a witness said that a man dressed in a San Mateo County sheriff's uniform and duty belt had gone inside, "claiming he was investigating a theft."
The employee told the man that no theft had been reported, but the man "insisted on interviewing someone inside the store’s cash office," police said.
The worker became suspicious and refused the request, and the man left without incident. An on-duty deupty responded to the store and confirmed from surveillance footage that the man was not a sheriff''s employee and that the sheriff's office wasn't actively investigating a theft there.
Police are now trying to figure out whether the incident is linked to a previous attempted robbery on Nov. 18 at a separate Safeway store on the 1600 block of S. El Camino Real.

BURGLARY CREW AT LARGE: Recognize these guys? San Jose police say they pulled off a residential burglary on Mantis Drive in the eastern part of the city at 12:35 p.m. Sept. 23.
Surveillance video captured images of three to four men involved in the break-in and a Jeep with tinted windows apparently circling the area.
The burglars forced their way inside through a side garage entrance and stole cash and jewelry.
The video can be seen here.
Anyone with information is asked to call San Jose police Det. Sgt. Mike Montonye at (408) 277-4401.
CHP NEEDS HELP: The California Highway Patrol needs the public's help in finding a car that fled the scene after it struck and killed a man on Interstate 80 in Richmond early Sunday.
The man somehow ended up on eastbound I-80 near Carlson Boulevard about 4:12 a.m. when he was hit by a red 1995-1997 Honda Civic with a modified bumper, said CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld.
A Good Samaritan in a car stopped to help, but the driver who hit the victim fled the scene, authorities said
The CHP stopped all eastbound traffic for about 10 minutes to scour for evidence.
The car should have damage on its right side, including part of the front bumper, and should be missing its right side-view mirror, Wilkenfeld said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 1-800-TELL-CHP.
AND HOW ABOUT THESE TWO? These two young women stole merchandise from a Coach outlet store and Sunglass hut on Sunday, Petaluma police say.
The theft from Coach wasn't discovered until after they left, police say. The two then stole $2,000 in merchandise from the Sunglass hut as the employee was helping other customers.
Anyone with information is asked to call Petaluma police Officer Patrick Gerke at (707) 778-4372.
