Homemade bomb found on Rohnert Park golf course, man arrested

A Rohnert Park man has been arrested in connection with a homemade bomb that was found Saturday morning at the Foxtail Golf Club.

Police say the device had been on the 18th fairway before employees took it to the maintenance yard.

Employees thought bringing the device to the maintenance yard would better protect guests, public safety officials said.

Employees also told officers that they found the remains of another device that had been detonated nearby.

The UC Berkeley bomb squad was called to destroy the device on the club's driving range.

The area was evacuated before the device was destroyed.

Police arrested 49-year-old Kevin Hornbuckle.

Officers said Hornbuckle told them the device was an "acid-bomb."

No one was hurt.
