The Sacramento police announced on Friday the arrest of the NorCal rapist, whom they said assaulted women dating back to 1991.
Roy Waller, 58, was arrested on Thursday at his place of work, UC Berkeley, where he had been a safety specialist since a year after the rapes began, the university said. Police said DNA linked him to the crimes. He is being held on 12 counts of forcible sexual assault with enhancements, according to prosecutors.
The first case allegedly linked to Waller started in Rohnert Park in 1991. The last was reported in 2006.
He was booked at the Sacramento County Jail. KTVU asked for a jailhouse interview on Friday but did not immediately hear back.
