Juvenile faces attempted murder charges in San Francisco high school shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) One juvenile has been charged with attempted murder in connection
with a shooting at an Excelsior District high school last week.

Charges were filed on Tuesday against one juvenile in connection with the October 18 shooting at June Jordan School for Equity, according to Alex Bastian, a spokesman for the district attorney's office.

Police last week said they had arrested two juveniles in connection with the shooting, which injured four 15-year-old students in the school parking lot around 3:15 p.m. as classes were letting out for the day.

However, Bastian said only one person has been charged in the case.

Police said after the shooting that one suspect had pulled out a gun and began shooting in an attack that appeared to target one female student, before fleeing with as many as three other suspects.

That student suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack while three others, who appear to have been bystanders, suffered less serious injuries, police said.
