LAWRENCE, Kansas (FOX 10) -- Beginning fall 2019, students at University of Kansas will have the chance to take a course that charts the rise of the "angry white male" in the U.S. and Great Britain.
According to the course catalog, Angry White Male Studies, also known by its course number HUM 365, will explore the deeper sources of the emotional state of an angry white male, while evaluating "recent manifestations of male anger".
"Employing interdisciplinary perspectives this course examines how both dominant and subordinate masculinities are represented and experienced in cultures undergoing periods of rapid change connected to modernity as well as to rights-based movements of women, people of color, homosexuals and trans individuals," officials wrote, in the catalog.
The course requires its students to first take a course titled "Introduction to Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies". The instructor for Angry White Male Studies can also give students permission to take the course.
