Large hole slows traffic on 101 SB

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) A sinkhole on southbound Highway 101 in South San Francisco has been patched up and roadways are open after the damage caused delays south of the Grand Avenue exit, California Highway Patrol said.

CHP officials initially reported the hole around 1:05 p.m. Tuesday on Twitter. The road reopened just before 7 p.m. There are residual delays. 

CHP officials said they don't know what caused the hole.
