Los Altos man stuck in compactor of garbage truck

LOS ALTOS, Calif. (KTVU) - Firefighters responded to a man stuck in the compactor of a garbage truck Wednesday morning in Los Altos, according to officials.

Santa Clara County Fire said the man had a leg injury that required medical treatment and he “was treated in the compactor.” The man was not trapped, though. 

Details as to how the man ended up in the predicament are still undetermined. The name of the garbage company was not released, but Santa Clara County Fire said the man was not a bystander. 

Authorities responded to the scene on Nightgale Ct. at 9:31 a.m. and had the man out of the compactor and on his way to a hospital by 10:00.
