OAKLAND (KTVU) -- A man was in police custody Tuesday after the suspect damaged windows at the West Oakland BART train stop using a golf club, authorities said.

A spokeswoman for the transit agency said police were called to the West Oakland station after receiving reports that an unidentified man was attempting to shatter the windows on a BART train on platform 2. The man then started shattering windows at the station with the golf club.

No injuries have been reported and the unidentified man was taken into custody, authorities said. It was not immediately clear what prompted the attack.

The incident prompted some delays for afternoon BART commuters at the West Oakland station and other stations along the route because of police activity.
