Man arrested for shooting inside Sonoma Co. home
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - A Forestville-area man was booked into Sonoma County Jail Thursday morning for allegedly shooting a man at a residence Wednesday night.
Sonoma County sheriff's deputies went to a residence in the 9000
block of Rio Dell Court off River Road in unincorporated Sonoma County around 9:20 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing screaming and gunshots, sheriff's Lt. Carlos Basurto said.
Deputies found a man who had been shot several times and the alleged shooter, identified as Eric Joseph Justensen, 48, of Forestville. The two men were acquaintances, Basurto said.
Investigators believe there were other people in the residence, including a child, at the time of the shooting, but they were gone when deputies arrived, according to Basurto.
The shooting victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. He has not been interviewed by detectives, who have not determined a motive for the shooting, Basurto said.
Deputies found a pistol in the residence and are looking for witnesses, Basurto said.
Justensen was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. He is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Friday afternoon.
