Oakland Police were searching for clues Wednesday after a man was found slain near the Fruitvale BART Station early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Police received a medical call sometime after 5 a.m. on 35th Avenue, between International Boulevard and 12th Street. Sources told KTVU that the victim has been identified as Tony Smith, 66, of Oakland.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man on the driver's seat in a silver Hyundai. He had been shot to death.

Police have not yet identified the victim or revealed a motive in the killing. Sources said Smith worked as a security guard in San Francisco.

There was no discernable damage to the car.

Authorities are now looking for witnesses, as they do not have any suspects or motives at this time.
