Man found dead at marina ID'd

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) A man found dead in the water Monday at a marina in South San Francisco has been identified as 60-year-old Anil Francis, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

Francis, a South San Francisco resident, was discovered at the Oyster Point Marina at about 3:45 p.m., according to South San Francisco police spokesman Cpl. Jason Pharr.

"We are investigating it as an accident. There is no evidence of foul play," Pharr said.

The coroner's office will determine the cause of death, but there were no obvious signs of trauma, Pharr said.

The public marina and park features 455 vessel berths, a boat launch ramp and a fishing pier.
