A Sonoma County man was sentenced to three consecutive life terms Monday for a series of murders spanning several years, including the death of his brother and a couple on a small beach on the Pacific Coast.

The judge told Shaun Gallon of Forestville that he deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murders he committed.

Gallon is accused of shooting and killing Lindsay Cutshall and Jason Allen in 2004 while they were in their sleeping bags on a beach in Jenner, a small coastal town in Sonoma County near the mouth of the Russian River.

The couple was engaged to be married and on a weekend trip away from their jobs as counselors at a youth camp in El Dorado County.

For 13 years investigators searched for the killer, but they had no strong leads until 2017.

That's when Gallon was arrested for killing his brother, Shamus, at the family's home in Forestville and began talking to investigators about the killings in Jenner and an attempted murder of a Monte Rio man two months earlier.

At Gallon's sentencing, the family of Lindsay Cutshall gave an emotional speech and read letters from kids where the couple worked before they were killed.

The prosecution played a part of Gallon's tapped confession where the Cutshall's learned for the first time what actually happened.

Lindsay's father said he long thought Gallon shot both Lindsay and Jason while they slept, but Lindsay was awake Lindsay was awake when she was murdered.
