Man in custody after leading officer on chase to Hayward

HAYWARD, Calif. (KTVU) - A man in a black pick-up truck is in custody after leading police on a chase Monday morning. 

The chase began in San Francisco before it crossed the San Mateo Bridge and ended at Winton and Amador in Hayward. 

The chase began when CHP officers tried to stop the truck on WB 80 just west of the Bay Bridge toll plaza for passing on the shoulder. The driver of the Chevy pick up truck failed to yield and a pursuit began into San Francisco. 

CHP units were able to stop the pursuit around 9:30 a.m. after a pit maneuver at Winston and Amador. 

The suspect, in his mid twenties, is in custody.
