Man killed in Hwy 1 crash near Devil's Slide
PACIFICA, Calif. (BCN/KTVU) - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on state Highway 1 south of Pacifica that shut down the road in both directions for most of Tuesday morning.
According to the CHP, a man was thrown from his car after crashing on the remote road at 3:26 a.m.
Initially investigators thought that the crash may have been a hit-and-run, but later determined that it was a single vehicle crash.
The CHP issued the Sig alert at 4:16 a.m. and didn't open the road until 6:30a.m.
At this point it's not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and investigators have not released the identity of the deceased driver.
