Man shot and killed in Richmond is city's third homicide this week
RICHMOND, Calif. (KTVU) - A man was shot and killed in Richmond on Thursday in the city’s third homicide this week - after a lull of no killings since November.
A man in his 30s was found dead from at least one gunshot wound on the 200 block of South 15th Street at about 10 a.m., said Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan.
A neighbor told KTVU he heard three gunshots.
Officers found the victim’s body in a parking lot off South 15th near Maine Avenue. The body was covered by a yellow tarp.
A woman at the scene identified herself as the victim’s girlfriend. She was being consoled by her mother.
This is the third homicide in Richmond this week. A man was shot dead on Saturday afternoon, and another victim was killed Monday night.
Tan said it’s too early to say if any of the homicides are linked to each other.
