Man suspected of murdering his parents in Sebastopol arrested

A man wanted on suspicion of stabbing his parents to death outside Sebastopol was found late Monday afternoon in Mendocino County, a Sonoma County Sheriff's Office sergeant said.

Nathan Alexander Wilson, 34, was arrested after a citizen called the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office around 4:30 p.m. to report Wilson's truck was parked along Tomki Road in the Redwood Valley area of Mendocino County, Sgt. Cecile Focha said.

Mendocino County sheriff's deputies found the truck abandoned and searched on foot for Wilson, Focha said.

Ukiah police then saw a man matching Wilson's description walking down the street near the Mendo Mill and Lumber Company, Focha said. When contacted, the man lied about his name, but Ukiah police identified Wilson by his driver's license.

Wilson was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Mendocino County Jail until he is extradited to Sonoma County, Focha said.

Wilson is suspected of killing David Wilson, 66, and Adrianne Chapin, 60, in a home at 1220 Sexton Road in the Twin Hills area of unincorporated Sonoma County outside Sebastopol.

The couple were found covered in blood on the floor of the residence by David Wilson's brother, Focha said, who also said he saw Nathan Wilson covered in blood by a shed on the property.

The sheriff's office responded to the slaying around 9:30 a.m. and issued a statewide bulletin.
