Mandatory evacuations lifted for parts of Sonoma County

SANTA ROSA (BCN)-- Mandatory evacuations were lifted this afternoon for residents of Rincon Valley within Santa Rosa city limits, according to Sonoma County sheriff's officials.

The area also includes Sky Hawk and the Los Alamos area of Santa Rosa including areas north of state Highway 12 and east of Calistoga Road to Melita Road outside the fire perimeter.

Calistoga Road at Harville Road remains closed, sheriff's officials said.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said law enforcement personnel would remain in these areas for safety, but that residents do not need to check in with anyone and do not need a law enforcement escort.

If you are coming from the south, you’ll need to access your neighborhood via the Highway 101 corridor because Highway 12 is still closed near Glen Ellen.

East of Santa Rosa:  All areas north of Highway 12 and east of Calistoga Road to Melita Road that are outside the burn area.  This area is now open except for the road closures listed below.

  • Los Alamos Road is closed at Scotland Drive.
  • Melita Road is closed at Kertsinger Road.
  • The easternmost section of Melita Road is closed at Highway 12.
