Massive turtle rescued from Highway 212 in Eden Prairie

A massive turtle, estimated to weigh 30 to 40 pounds and measuring two feet in length, was attempting to cross Highway 212 in Eden Prairie, Minn.  last Sunday, July 24. According to Eden Prairie police, an officer spotted the turtle in the highway, between Mitchell Road and Prairie Center Drive, and called for assistance.

Community Service Officer Spencer Barrie arrived on the scene and carefully picked up the turtle. Officer Barrie put the turtle in the back of his truck and safely relocated it.

“We appreciate all that our CSOs do for our residents, both human and animal,” Eden Prairie police said.
