Motorcycle rider suffers major injuries in hit-and-run crash
FAIRFIELD (BCN) - Fairfield police said a motorcycle rider suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run collision with a vehicle late Wednesday morning.
The motorcycle was traveling south on Oliver Road around 11:15 a.m. when a black Toyota Camry or Corolla exited a motel driveway into the path of the motorcycle, according to police.
The motorcycle rider was ejected and the Toyota fled north on Oliver Road, police said. Witnesses came to the aid of the motorcycle rider who was taken to a local trauma center, police said.
The crash closed Oliver Road between the Interstate Highway 80 westbound off-ramp and Rockville Road until 12:50 p.m.
