Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run on Milpitas freeway
MILPITAS, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- The California Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a motorcyclist Saturday night in Milpitas, authorities said.
CHP officers responded to reports of a motorcyclist on the ground on northbound Interstate 880, just south of Highway 237, officials said. When emergency crews arrived, the victim had already died.
Four of the highway's lanes were closed, as investigators searched for evidence. Witnesses described the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist, as a newer, black Dodge Charger or Challenger with retro-style wraparound taillights, CHP said.
