A man and a woman were found shot to death Monday night in a murder-suicide outside a Denny's in San Jose, police said, and about three hours later, a separate homicide was reported at a nearby car wash.

All three occurred within three hours and within a mile and a half of each other.

At 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at least six police SUVs and the mobile crime scene unit were dispatched to Keyes and South 10 streets near a car wash, where officers were seen entering the building. Sgt. Enrique Garcia confirmed a man had been killed in the 300 block of Keyes Street, but revealed nothing else. The young man was found unresponsive in his car at the car wash.

That's about a block away from the Denny's restaurant at South First Street and East Alma Avenue where a man and a woman were shot dead Monday just before 11 p.m. Garcia confirmed this was a murder-suicide but didn't elaborate.

Video at the scene shows many young people sitting on the sidewalk watching the investigation.
