Naked man may have been involved in I-880 Fremont crashes
FREMONT, Calif. (KTVU) - The CHP is investigating the circumstances surrounding a bizarre incident that caused a backup during the Thursday morning commute on Interstate 880 in Fremont.
Officers say there were two related crashes.
The first involved an SUV and a Honda.
The second crash involved four other cars.
The CHP says complicating matters was the presence of a naked man running on the right shoulder of the freeway.
The crash and CHP investigation caused gridlock on the northbound lanes of Interstate 880, near Mowry Avenue.
The CHP are looking into whether the naked man was one of the drivers involved in the crashes.
He and another person were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities hope to reopen the road at around 6:30 a.m.
