Napa police, school officials investigating football team assault

Napa High School officials and the police department are investigating assaults on multiple student connected to the school's football team.

According to police, the assaults took place on November 19th and involved teammates holding down other teammates and hitting and grabbing them.

As a result of the allegations the Police department and the Napa Valley Unified School District launched independent investigations into the incident.

Police officials say because juveniles are involved, that they would not be releasing additional information about the incident at this time.

 

Napa Valley School officials told the Napa Valley Register, that their first and foremost concern was that their students were safe.

They did not comment on the severity of the injuries sustained by students during the assaults and did not say if any action has been taken against students as a result of the investigation.
