Nashville Police officer shot while serving warrant

NASHVILLE, Tennessee. (KTVU) - A Nashville Police officer was shot in the shoulder while serving a search warrant Tuesday morning, but is expected to survive.

According to Department tweets, the incident took place at a hotel called Cumberland Inn in East Nashville.

The suspect is apparently still barricaded inside the hotel and the SWAT team has been called out to detain him.

This is the latest incident in a recent string of violence against police officers on the job.

In Georgia, 6 officers have been shot in 6 days with two of them dying.
