'Not on our watch:' Activists rally outside ICE detention facility in Richmond

Activist groups are holding an all-day protest on Tuesday at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond, rallying against the immigration policies of the Trump administration.

Protesters are demanding families separated at the border be reunited right away.
They’re also objecting to treatment of people inside the ICE facility in Richmond after a deputy was recently charged for having sex with two inmates.

Several community organizations, labor unions, and human rights groups are expected to take part in this day of action.

”We think that families belong together and we are  appalled by images of family separation and children sleeping in cages and all these things I never thought I would see in my lifetime in the united states,” said Sue Wilson of  Richmond Progressive Alliance.

Added community pastor David Brazil: “Not on our watch. This is not going to happen. It’s time for ordinary citizens of conscience to stand up and do the right thing even if the government isn’t going to do that.”
